Abstract

It is now common parlance and accepted by all to use the terms bone preservation, platformswitching and prosthetically-guided implants. In routine practice, we have to deal with ourpatients and guide them in choosing the most appropriate therapy for their local and generalcircumstances. The conventional prosthetic approach (fixed prostheses supported by dentalcomponents) cannot be ruled out a priori but should rather be considered a viable therapeuticalternative in certain clinical circumstances.

Advan, with its One Internal system and OsseoGrip® surface, provides clinicians with a surface designed for high osteointegration and a standardized connection that streamlines prosthetic procedures. This approach led to a satisfactory implant-prosthetic result, featuring the reconstruction of interproximal mucosal tissue that blends the prosthetic restoration seamlessly with the surrounding tissue. A three-year radiographic evaluation (though the timeframe is not fully conclusive) revealed appropriate bone preservation and gingival health (Fig. 16). The patient successfully maintains effective oral hygiene at home with minimal effort.
